Who We Are
Independent Family Martial Arts is a club teaching Traditional Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate) in a family friendly atmosphere. We promote self confidence, respect, fitness, self defence, health and well being and our sessions are suitable for everyone from the age of 5 and upwards. We particularly welcome family groups (with discounts applied for multiple family members).

WHAT IS TANG SOO DO
Tang Soo Do (Hangul: 당수도, pronounced [taŋsʰudo]) is a Korean martial art incorporating fighting principles from subak (as described in the Kwon Bup Chong Do), as well as northern Chinese Wu Shu kung fu.[1] The techniques of what is commonly known as Tang Soo Do combine elements of shotokan karate, subak, taekkyon, and kung fu.
WHO CREATED TANG SOO DO
Tang Doo Do was created by Grand Master Hwang Kee in Seoul, Korea. Tang Soo Do is a composite style using elements of different Martial Arts and based on a revolutionary curriculum by GM Hwang Kee.
WHO CAN DO TANG SOO DO?
Tang Soo Do (and especially Independent Family Martial Arts) caters for people of all ages and all capabilities, the goal is individual improvement above sporting success.
